Stand up for Samui on the 31st July
It’s amazing to see how the Samui community has worked and is still working to make this protest a success. Can you help?
Where to stand on the 31st?
The most important thing is to come out and be counted between 10am and noon on Saturday – so join in your neighbourhood or anywhere, and make new friends! However, if you have a car why not get your friends and neighbours together and get out to one of the more unpopulated areas of the island and help to make this incredible protest more effective?
In an update we received yesterday from one of the organisers Khun Nokie, she says it’s the area on the southwest of the island that needs the most attention – you will notice now on all the electric poles on the inland side of the island there are numbers – so head for the early 200′s:
She says: “Re July 31, we are worried about that we will have people in the western area as I informed you. Is it possible to have your friends to go to point no.208 (it’s in between Ford Garage and Coca cola Factory)? I will advise Karen to bring her friends and her staff to point 207 and Claudio to bring Rotarian to point 209.” Yoga Thailand will also be out there near the Na Muang area. So these are points suggested for anyone in the south western part and for anyone who can make the effort to drive there from elsewhere.
Becky will be leaving in a pickup from June’s Art Cafe in Nathon at 9am on Saturday and can offer you a ride down if you want to join her. Please call to confirm so she knows who is coming. +66805372589
If you have a car and want to meet there to help her with pickups, call her please.
What to wear?
If you don’t want to wear your swimsuit – see pic hopefully attached or link http://www.greenpeace.org/international/en/multimedia/photos/Oil-protest-in-Brussels/ – then please wear a bright coloured t-shirt. There are nice t-shirts for sale for B100. You can find some at June’s cafe in Bophut or sms this number 0818921180 if you’d like to arrange to pick some up.
